Poem Beyond the Shroud by Darren Heart

Beyond the Shroud

Poem Beyond The Shroud

The human 'race'...
...always destined to wipe egg from it's face.
Wealth the new god...
...an army of consumers, hook and rod.
Power for few...
...but deep in your dreams you wish that was you.
They keep us scared...
...the illusion of freedom well prepared.
Nations at war...
...not the rich mind you, no it's just the poor.
We have a say...
...or is destiny planned another way?
Not doomed to fail...
...cardiac entanglement will prevail.

Poem Beyond the Shroud Poetry About The World

About this Poem

Poetry about the world we live in can take two drastic turns; one is to see the utopian world that the system would have us believe exists, where police are never too zealous, and court rooms never make mistakes, and the other is to write about the real world, the one that exists beyond the shroud.

While thinking in this regards and how the world is not really how it says on the tin, a bunch of words came to me, as a basis for new poetry about the real world we live in, and are shown above.  I am not sure I would call it a completed poem just yet, and so take it as it comes.  Keep an eye on this page for updates, as somehow I think i will be adding to this poetry resource, as and when more world events grind my gears!
