Is There Life After Death

During a recent discussion in a group on Facebook, the poster of the topic asked how a lost relative would be recognizable, or recognize us, once we join them in the afterlife.  This brought me to consider my theory on the age old question; Is there life after death?

Due to the nature of my writing and poetry, I am often asked about my views on the existence of an afterlife, and what form this may take. It struck me that this view could make for a reasonable short article, and I welcome comments and debate on the topic (post a comment below).

Much of my beliefs with regard to this topic are derived from science.  At his point I am usually looked upon with suspicious eyes from those now expecting my arguments to take the side of the lights out stance.  This is however far from the case, and my belief in the existence of something more, is absolute, so hang in there believers and I will put my case.

"No energy is created, no energy is destroyed" [Laws of Thermodynamics]

We (referring to our consciousness) exist at our core as an energy, vibrating at our very own frequency. These frequencies are trapped within a physical body.  These bodies are made up of particles of matter, held together by more energy frequencies that allow them to bond together to form mass.  Without these frequencies everything in the universe would fall apart.

While existing in these bodies of matter, we can only perceive a very small spectrum of the available frequencies that exist within the universe  (the few ranges of light our eyes will allow us to see, the limited range of pitch our ears will allow us to hear etc), whereas once released from these limits i think we could perceive ALL available frequencies....

This brings me onto the original question of recognition of our loved ones in the afterlife. i think our loved ones resonate at such a similar frequency to ourselves that they will be easy to identify... we could even be attracted to them like the north and south poles of a magnet.

To go into too much detail about what I think the nature of this afterlife to be, would be beyond the scope of this article, but two questions the laws of thermodynamics raise for me are this;

  • If no energy is created, then we were created once.  Stands to reason that when we are born, our energy already exists within the universe?
  • If no energy is destroyed, then it would be reasonable to assume that we do in fact go somewhere, as opposed to simply cease to exist anymore.

I believe that over the next few years, as sciences such as quantum physics develop further, the lines between spirituality and science will become somewhat blurred, and this could lead to some exciting times where scientists begin to investigate previously taboo subjects such as the existence of an afterlife, and perhaps even the meaning of life itself.
